The Bargaining Unit Council (BUC) consists of a Chair, a Vice Chair, and 6 at-large members. Only campus Bargaining Unit Representatives (BURs) are eligible to sit on the BUC. BUC chairs and other members are elected by chapter Bargaining Unit Representatives at the statewide election meeting during election years. When a member leaves the BUC, the Chair appoints a replacement with the concurrence of the BUC.
Terms for BUC members run until the next election of statewide officers, which is typically at a summer meeting several months after chapter elections.
Bargaining Unit Council 9 (BUC 9) elections were held Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the Westin San Francisco Airport in Millbrae, California. Resignations and appointments since then have resulted in the council membership shown.
